Initiatives for recycling food waste

Food waste is recycled for fertilizer and never incinerated.

The company’s recycle business reduces the environmental burden through means of recycling and does not use disposal methods such as burying or incinerating. 100% organic fertilizer made at our food recycling facilities is used to cultivate crops, which forms a recycle loop that links consumers with producers.

Recycling business registered certificate

“Bio Plaza kumamoto” and “Bio Plaza Nagoya” have both been registered as a recycle business by the Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and the Minister for the Environment.

“Bio Plaza Kumamoto” was the first of its kind in Kyushu to receive registration as a recycling business on May 8, 2002. (Revised in May 2007)
“Bio Plaza Nagoya” also received registration as a recycling business on March 13, 2007.

While being self-aware of our responsibility in terms of reliability of food recycling, we will continue to contribute towards a resource recycling society into the future.
