Food recycling business

Operating unique “food recycling facilities” throughout Japan

Our food recycling facility Bio Plaza has overcome the three main issues of “separation technology”, “biological deodorizing technology” and maintaining a market for compost while recycling food, and contributes towards the environment.

We recognized the importance of food recycling when considering whether it was possible to recycle raw garbage during our work in waste collection and transport business. We started the project and established food recycle facilities that can convert waste food (raw garbage) into compost at high speed inn Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture in 2002, and Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture in 2007.

The recycle loop that links consumers with producers

The company’s recycle business reduces the environmental burden through means of recycling and does not use disposal methods such as landfilling or incinerating.

100% organic fertilizer made at our food recycling facilities is used to cultivate crops, which forms a recycle loop that links consumers with producers.

General and industrial waste collection and transportation, and treatment business

A consistent collection, transportation and treatment system

At our company, we connect, transport and treat general and industrial waste, and also recycle using a consistent system for food waste. In particular, we have greatly reduced the environmental load by recycling with our waste recycling business.

We do not use methods from the past such as “landfilling” or “incineration”. Our company works within structures called “closed type” facilities, where food is sequentially recycled.

It is common to perform this work in “open-type” land with no partitions. However, using a closed type facility has the advantage of not allowing bad smells and dirty water, to escape outside the factory, created when making the compost, . Therefore, we have adopted this method, and it also means that we are considering the environment.

We operate two facilities that adopt a closed type setup in Kumamoto City (Bio Plaza Okishin) and Nagoya City (Bio Plaza Nagoya).
Currently, their total treatment capacity is 323 tons per day, Kumamoto being 108 tons per day, and Nagoya being 215 tons per day.

The one of a kind environmental technology owned by our company is the first of its kind in Japan, and we are considering expanding it throughout Japan and the rest of the world.
